How We Choose Products

Our Selection Criteria
Every product that appears on Gymso must pass four criteria. First, it must carry at least a 3.8-star average rating from real buyers. Second, it must have at least 100 verified reviews or at least 100 monthly buyers, confirming real purchase demand not just browsing interest. Third, the published specs must match the category requirements (for example, a weight bench must list a weight capacity; a treadmill must list motor size and deck dimensions). Fourth, the price must represent fair value for the spec level.
How We Rank
Within a qualifying set, products are ranked by a combination of verified buyer demand (bought-last-month volume and total review count), star rating, and spec-to-price value. Demand is weighted most heavily because it reflects real purchasing decisions by people who chose this product over alternatives. Gymso is an Amazon Associate and earns from qualifying purchases; this relationship funds the site but does not influence rankings. Products are ranked by specs and verified demand, not by commission rate.
Research, Not Lab Testing
We research products through manufacturer specs, published data sheets, and patterns in verified owner feedback. We do not lab-test products and we do not own or operate testing facilities. When a spec is not published or cannot be confirmed, we state that clearly and direct readers to verify on the product page before buying. This honesty is central to our editorial policy.
Keeping Lists Current
Home gym equipment lines turn over regularly. We revisit category lists when major new models launch or when demand data shifts the rankings meaningfully. If a product you relied on is no longer available or has been superseded, check the current best-of list for that category or email hello@gymso.com for a recommendation.
